Essential Travel Only Declaration

PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release:  February 27, 2019

The Ravalli County Commissioners have declared an emergency in Ravalli County due to the record snowfall experienced over the past few days. 

Mayor Brandon Dewey has declared “Essential Travel Only” for the Town of Stevensville effective at 5:00 pm tonight, Wednesday, February 27th.  Travel restrictions will be in effect until further notice. 

Focused snow removal operations will commence at 6:00 pm tonight. To aid in this snow removal effort, Mayor Dewey is asking that citizens and business owners move vehicles off Main Street and away from snow berms and snow piles throughout the Town.  Roads may be temporarily closed or access restricted during this snow removal effort.

Do not travel unless absolutely necessary.  The Town’s declaration does not preclude citizens from going to work, grocery store and pharmacy for critical items only.   The purpose is to get as many vehicles off the roads in order to effectively clear the snow and ensure the safety of the snow removal crews and citizens.
