NOTICE OF UNKNOWN SERVICE LINE MATERIAL

Town of Stevensville Citizens

Now that you have received information about identifying your water service lines lets touch on a few things. 

  • In January 2023 the town mailed out a questionnaire to citizens helping to identify the plumbing in residential and commercial buildings.
  • On October 1, 2024 the town submitted an inventory marking all service lines as unknown, the deadline for this was October 16, 2024.
  • On November 6, 2024 the town started hand delivering notices of unknown service line material that was required by DEQ (department of environmental quality) this information is due to the public by November 16, 2024. 
  • The town is in compliance with all lead testing the state requires (our last test was September 18, 2024). 

 

Next Steps

  • Identify your service lines, if you need assistance contact town hall to set up a time for our public works department to come and take a look. 
  • Contact town hall with that information so that we can report it back to the state.
  • If you have concerning service line material you may request a water test kit (available through town hall for a $20.00 fee). 
  • This is now a yearly mandatory process the more information that you provide to us about your service line this year the more information we can provide to the state in 2025.
