Purging The Air From Residential Water Lines

Purging the air from residential water lines:

Start by removing the screens from the sinks, as they only add to the aeration already there.

Run the sinks. Run the bathtub. Run an outside spigot.

The air is under pressure from the weight of the water and has been pushed to every point of diversion, so it must be purged at every point.

The time this takes will vary, but it is suggested that a minimum of 15 minutes to a half hour be taken.

Do this a couple times a day until the aeration ceases.

Even if you don’t see and hear sputtering as the air leaves the line, do it anyway. Flush your entire system thoroughly.
